What is 'Trading according to a real market?'

Simulated trading must be legitimate, and our participants must not engage in practices that go against how a person would trade on actual financial markets. A trading strategy is permitted as long as it does not interfere with legitimate trading or exploit practices that are intended to cause us any harm or misuse the Evaluation Process or FTMO Rewards Account in any way, and breach rules regarding the forbidden trading practices.

Please note again that all trading via the FTMO platform (Free Trial, Evaluation Process, FTMO Rewards Account) is simulated only, with only simulated capital available. However, we emulate the conditions of a real market and require you to apply proper risk management rules to provide a realistic and professional trading experience. Because when you trade on a real market (e.g. via a proprietary trading firm), following the rules is essential.
