Who is the FTMO account type US suitable for?

The FTMO simulated account type US offers leverage of up to 1:33 and does not have any restrictions for placing simulated trades around news releases, holding trades overnight or over the weekend. However, for simulated futures contracts, all positions must be closed before the contract’s expiry.

This account type is suitable for traders who need flexibility to hold positions for a longer period of time, giving trades sufficient time to develop. In most cases, these are fundamental traders who expect market sentiment to last several days or weeks, or technical traders who analyse higher timeframes (H1 and above).

Can I switch to a different account type or leverage option?

No, the FTMO simulated account type US is the only account type available for US participants and cannot be changed to a different leverage option at any stage, whether during or after the Evaluation Process.
