Marek Vašíček (CTO) and Otakar Šuffner (CEO)
In 2015, Marek Vašíček and Otakar Šuffner were recent university graduates with a clear vision–to make a living through trading. They didn’t have the capital or professional backing, but they believed trading could be more accessible. Even though few understood their idea at first, they didn’t give up. What started in a small Prague office has since grown into a global technology company helping to shape an entirely new industry–Modern Prop Trading. Marek Vašíček (CTO) leads technological development and is the mind behind the in-house systems and tools used at FTMO. Otakar Šuffner (CEO) sets the company’s direction, focusing on strategy and expanding FTMO beyond the platform itself.

The idea is born – to support traders in mastering risk management, discipline, and trading psychology. The company Získejúčet.cz is founded and, a year later, secures its first investment and begins expanding its offering.
The company rebrands to FTMO and expands into international markets. What started as a project in Prague begins its journey toward becoming a global player.
FTMO unveils a new visual identity and improves the Evaluation Process for traders. In 2020, the name Získejúčet.cz is officially retired, and all services are unified under the FTMO brand. The team and client community grow significantly.
FTMO wins the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe award, becoming the fastest-growing tech company in the region in 2021 (with 39,432% growth over four years). It defends its position in the following year and also moves into its new headquarters in the heart of Prague.
In fall 2023, FTMO completes the acquisition of Quantlane, launches the Premium Program for elite traders, and once again tops the Deloitte Fast 50 ranking. FTMO is also awarded the title of Best Prop-Trading Firm/Provider.
In November 2024, FTMO defends its Best Prop-Trading Firm/Provider title at the Finance Magnates London Summit, and receives the prestigious EY Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Thanks to our strategic partnership with OANDA, we’ve expanded access to our innovative product in the United States, making it more accessible to serious traders worldwide.
